The V398_A is a firmware designed for everybody. It includes the following

* Optimized firmware, the best flash and flex version are matched together. Seems are editted for optimum performance and full features.
* Easy to install! What used to be the most difficult firmware upgrade is now the easiest! Just flash the monster pack and you are done! No seem editting or file manipulations to get your phone back to working condition.
* Created with the Motorola Community in mind. This firmware includes some extra wallpapers and skins and a bonus video. Also the better ringtones from other firmware versions are included!

It is impossible to optimized a firmware for all configurations, plus everybody has their own customizing tastes. If you like your phone specificially customized with 8MB of free space, you still will have to do some file editing. You may want to save your flex after you finish these customizations and save them into the monster pack. What you will need
------------------
Motorola E398 Phone
USB Data Cable
Motorola Phone Service Tools (version 7 or above)
A PC running a Windows OS

How to Install
--------------

1] Open MultiFlashFlex.Exe, it should be located in your PST directory.

2] Make sure "Enable Flash" is checked

3] Select the V398MP SHX file included in this ZIP file in the file box.

4] Attach your E398 to the USB cable and plug it in to your computer.

5] Make sure the device shows up in the box at the bottom.

6] *POINT OF NO RETURN* Hit the "Start" button. Flashing will take 3-5 minutes, do NOT unplug the phone during flashing!

7] After the green box shows up and a message "FLASH SUCCESSFUL" Turn on your new V398!

8] You may get a warning about an HMG file. This can be safely ignored.

* - Various tweaks to the menus to keep things from dissappearing
with a master clear.
* - All reference to IR is now completely removed from the phone.

Known Issues
------------
*If you perform a master clear, it should be done with the TFlash card removed to avoid being locked out of the Screensaver and Wallpaper menus.
* Performing master clear is not recommended, problems seem to arise for various reasons.
